An exciting Career in Railway Signalling Engineering is available to you
Have
you thought of a career in Railway Signalling Engineering? There are many projects involving millions of pounds planned for
the future of Britains Railways. Many Companies are struggling to find experienced signalling engineering staff from within
the industry. The fact is that there are not enough to meet their needs now, yet alone the requirements of future needs. This
means that there are opportunities available to enter this exciting and rewarding career. Once into this industry a whole
new world of opportunity exists to develop and forward your career including technical, supervisory and management progression.
Basic Signalling Principles & Associated Circuitry is a course that will give you a major advantage
over other applicants wishing to enter this working environment. It will assist immensly in gaining interview. More importantly,
having gained interview you will be able to demonstrate a knowledge of signalling engineering knowledge equivalent to many
within the industry with 2 years working experience. Many NetworkRail Managers and Supervisors have been astounded at how
much knowledge participants of this course have attained during interview.
Having
gained your position after interview the knowledge gained will be of further assistance to you as you will have attained a
foundation for immediate progress by learning from your workplace experiences.
The conventional
BSP&AC Course can cost upto £500 but it is now available for only £90 inc pp and help line.
Exactly the same content is covered and there are many self assessment exercises and scenarios to assist your progression.
It is also possible to spread the cost of this course by purchasing the 5 sessions involved individually. See the prices page.
Maybe
you are already working in this discipline but lack the underpinning knowledge to progress.
If you
are interested in joining or progressing within a profession that can give you an interesting and rewarding career then Basic Signalling Principles and Associated Circuitry (BSP&AC)” is the course for you. Divided
into 5 sections you will learn:
Ø The basics of Railway Signalling. What semaphore, colour light and other signals mean from a train drivers prospective. This is an
important feature in understanding what signalling and signalling circuitry is aiming to achieve.
Ø Signalling Diagrams, Sketches and Plans. How to read diagrams, sketches and plans. There are
many symbols common to standard wiring diagrams. There are many more however that are railway specific. In this session you
will learn them both.
Ø Basic Signalling and Lighting Circuitry. In this session colour light signalling and route indication circuitry are explained from basics.
Ø Track Circuits. Track circuits play an important role in railway signalling engineering. The basic characteristics of track circuits
are explained together with the various types of track circuits employed for the traction systems used on the network.
Ø Points. The means by which trains are set onto their required routes requires the movement of points. These movements are made
by mechanical, elecro-mechanical (point machines) and electro-hydraulic (rail point clamp locks). These are explained in this
session together with the basic circuitry involved.
BSP&AC
will give you the edge over other applicants and provide you with a foundation for learning the art of railway signalling
engineering in the workplace. Basic electricity and magnetism knowledge is an advantage. This course can be attended without
this underpinning knowledge, It should be noted however it would need to be attained at an early stage following successful
appointment.
